Responsible for implementation and management of the Company’s Property Control System (PCS) for Government property in its possession onboard assigned vessels managed by the Company. Maintain vessel Government issued property inventories and reports.

Maintain government property records and submittal of government reports as required
Conduct internal inventory property audits aboard vessels operated by the company
A minimum of 5 years experience in property management, with specific skills in life-cycle management of movable assets
Must hold certification CPPM (Certified Professional Property Manager)
Completion of 40 hours of training in life cycle management of property and moveable assets
Experience in writing and issuing procedures regarding property life cycle management
Experience in performing property control system audits and identifying ineffective or cost-prohibitive methods
Individual strong expertise in a wide range of accountability based responsibilities
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Good analytical skills
Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Applications

Assist with maintenance and overhauls (VRA & ROH) of one or more T-AGS class vessels, under the supervision and direction of a lead Port Engineer. Assist with fleet special projects such as but not limited to, TRANSALT development and cruise card execution.
Monitoring and analyzing all appropriate aspects of ship performance. Supports and participates in the organization’s Integrated Management System documentation, implementation, maintenance, and improvement by complying with the IMS Policies and procedures and meeting IMS objectives.

At least two (2) years’ experience in the US commercial or Government maritime industry in either a shore-side or shipboard engineering role. This experience must demonstrate the ability to effectively assist with marine engineering projects such as overhauls and other types of maintenance and repairs.
Basic practical knowledge of mechanical engineering and naval architecture principles and practices as they pertain to ocean-going ships.
Basic practical knowledge of shipboard electrical distribution systems
Familiarity with marine/mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering disciplines; and
The ability to understand overhaul requirements, and the preparation of contract work specifications and cost estimates for repair, overhaul, conversion, or construction of ocean-going ships; or a combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent level of knowledge of ship operations and maintenance management.
Responsible for the administration and supervision of deck department functions; accountable for the safe handling, storage, and transporting of cargo and for the planning and administration of deck maintenance; determines stability, trim; instructs the crew in the preparation of cargo operations, and transportation of cargo; verifies and monitors the safe navigation of the vessel. Acts as Ship’s Security Officer. Overall, in charge of the Deck department.
Head of the Engine department controlling the operation and maintenance of all machinery and related equipment; supervises all engine department personnel and evaluates their performances. Maintains all engine department-related files, plans, instruction manuals and inspection records. Audits the performance of the main engines and auxiliaries and documents same. Controls all vessel purchase orders, spare part requisitions, and stores requisitions and maintains files on same. Conducts safety audits; instructs and supervises the deck officers in the proper operation of all cargo and deck-related machinery. Communicates daily with ship’s Master on all aspects relating to SMS. Officer in charge of SAMM/NSE Preventive Maintenance System.
Directly responsible to the Chief Engineer. Supervises the engine department personnel, both licensed and unlicensed, in their daily work assignments. In conjunction with the Chief Engineer, sets up daily work and maintenance programs, delegating such to assistant engineers and crew members as their experience dictates. Assists the Chief Engineer in setting up engine and deck work lists and maintenance records and seeing that all records are kept up to date as work is performed. As work is performed, checks that all is being done to ensure that company and industry safety guidelines are being met.
Engine room watch stander or dayworker on unmanned certified vessels. In conjunction with the First Assistant Engineer meets daily to set up work related to equipment he/she oversees, discussing in full detail condition of said equipment. Under the direction of Chief Engineer/First Assistant, is responsible for auxiliary machinery maintenance.

Provide support for Health of all embarked personnel aboard the vessel. Act as Master’s agent in all aspects of health, including health care, preventative medicine, environmental health, occupational health and medical administration. Perform Emergency Medical Procedures. Utilize Company’s medical consultation service provider as needed, Control of medication and maintenance of medical equipment onboard.
Vessel’s communication officer. Responsible for Navy messaging and COMSEC material. Completes updates of the local computer network and troubleshoots all network problems. Work for and closely with the Captain and the Navy’s local area command. Maintains and calibrates all electronic and navigational equipment.
Maintains the vessel Navy Supply System requirements and inventory. Responsible for the initialization of requisitions for repair parts as directed by the Chief Engineer, requisitions of safety related items as directed by Chief Mate, and requisitions of provisions and consumables as directed by the Master.
Dayworker performing the ordinary work incidental to the sailing, operation and maintenance of the vessel. Possibility of standing occasional bridge lookout and helmsman watch.
